Sofrito Latin Cafe

Overview

If you’re looking to experience authentic Latin flavors in Orlando, Sofrito Latin Cafe is a must-visit spot. Nestled at 8607 Palm Parkway, this cozy cafe brings the vibrant tastes of Latin American cuisine right to your table. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Sofrito offers an unforgettable dining experience that highlights the rich culinary traditions of Latin culture.

From the moment you step inside, the welcoming atmosphere of Sofrito Latin Cafe feels like home. The space is warm and inviting, with colorful decor and friendly service that immediately sets the tone for a great meal. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable from the first greeting, and the aroma of sizzling dishes in the kitchen only makes you more excited to dig in.

The menu at Sofrito Latin Cafe is a celebration of Latin American cuisine, offering a variety of dishes that range from Cuban to Puerto Rican and Dominican flavors. One standout is their Cuban sandwich, which many say is one of the best in the area. The bread is perfectly toasted, while the filling-packed with tender roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard-hits all the right notes. It's a classic for a reason, and Sofrito does it justice.

For those craving something a bit more adventurous, the Mofongo is a must-try. This traditional Puerto Rican dish made of mashed plantains, garlic, and pork cracklings is packed with flavor and texture. Sofrito's version is particularly impressive, served with a rich broth and your choice of protein, whether it's shrimp, chicken, or beef. It's hearty, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, making it a favorite for regulars.

Another crowd-pleaser is their Paella, a Spanish-inspired rice dish loaded with seafood, chicken, and chorizo. It’s flavorful, with just the right balance of spices and textures, and it’s perfect for sharing if you're dining with friends or family. If you’re in the mood for something lighter but just as delicious, the Latin salad with grilled chicken or shrimp is a refreshing choice. The salad is vibrant, crisp, and full of zingy citrus flavors that pair beautifully with the grilled proteins.

The drinks menu at Sofrito is just as impressive as the food. They offer a range of refreshing Latin-inspired beverages, including the popular Mojito and the tropical PiΓ±a Colada. Both are perfect for sipping while enjoying a meal or relaxing with friends. If you're looking for something non-alcoholic, their freshly made juices are a great option-mango, pineapple, or passion fruit can easily transport you to a tropical paradise.

What sets Sofrito Latin Cafe apart from other restaurants in the area is their attention to detail. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to offer recommendations based on your taste preferences. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, the team makes sure you feel right at home. Plus, they offer both dine-in and takeout options, so you can enjoy your Latin feast however you prefer.

The food was great and there were many options both large and small portions. There are a few vegetarian options. It is a counter service restaurant so you place your order at a kiosk or with a person at the counter. Then you are given a number and you find a table and the food is brought to your table. I always feel a bit frustrated when asked for a tip on a self service kiosk and I have not gotten any service yet. Don't expect a follow-up on drinks or desserts, you have to go back to the counter and order. There is seating inside and on a patio outside. There are large group tables so it would be a good place for a larger group. Oddly, there was a professional photographer going around offering to take photos as well.

Order at the counter, self seating and get ready to have your senses blown away!! The favors and the smells were absolutely amazing! My Uber driver recommended it last year when I was here for a convention, but didn’t have time to go, so made sure I went this time around! So glad we came!

I was looking for a hot meal at a reasonable price in the vacation capital of Florida! I would say this is a fast casual style restaurant - you order at the counter when you walk in, seat yourself, and they bring you food. I ordered the chicken soup and it was amazing! Seemed to be house made broth, flavorful, good amount of chicken in it. And it was served really really hot! I hate it when I get soup that isn’t quite hot, so I was happy with this one. I think I’m going back today and get it again. They also had empanadas, arepas, and other Latin food that looked good.

The food was ok, I liked the drinks and atmosphere. You pay at counter and they bring your food. They made two errors to our order and the server was rude about it…when our receipt showed what we ordered word for word. 1 thing they didn’t bring the other they made it wrong both easy fixes. A simple sorry and fix it wld have been great but … instead we got the attitude.

Great local place with a twist on fast casual dining. They have a bar, they have a beautiful dining area, and they have a covered patio right where you can sit outside. Order at the counter just inside on the left. They'll bring the food and drinks out to you. At least that was my experience. I included a picture of my meal on this review. When it comes to describing just how good it was words fail me. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The yellow rice has unique spices that I haven't tasted before. I had a side of the aoli sauce to go with the chicken. Again, great choice. I'm only in town for a few days and the group I'm with is staying at the Gaylord. And while that place has so many wonderful places to eat, I am really glad that I had this first evening all to myself so I could get out and about and enjoy something local. A great placeIf you just want to grab a bite, it's also a wonderful place if you've got a big group. Fair prices, I'm not aware of any discounts that they have available. The restaurant is very clean.

Great cafe with def a 4 stars food and great service. The place is vey clean and spacious. They offer in and outdoor seating. Some dishes are large, so you might end up sharing. The parking seems to be ok, since there is plenty in the area. The best feature is the price. This is Disney area, but here you can eat good and not break your budget. It’s a sure shot, so come and try it. I am local so Def recommending this place to family and friends.

This place is amazingly and extraordinarily good from the moment you walk in, with a warm and friendly smile. Food is very well presented and seasoned to perfection. We love their soups (sancocho) and their patacones rellenos (see pics) and great coffee and desserts. Special kudos to Gladys (manager) for her excellent service and awesomeness.
